چکیده

All animal procedures were performed in accordance with UK Home Office Guidance on the operation of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and institutional ethical approval (PPL60/4114 and PPL 60/4429). Male white Landrace pigs (SAC Commercial Ltd, Edinburgh, UK) and miR-21 knockout mice (1) were maintained on a 12 hour light/dark cycle with free access to food and water at a designated Biological Procedures Unit prior to stenting and maintained for a period of 7 or 28 days thereafter. Stented Human coronary arteries were dissected from explanted hearts at the time of cardiac transplantation. All procedures had local ethical approval (Research Ethical Committee number: 06/S0703/110) and experimental procedures conformed to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.

Overview of Intracoronary Brachytherapy for in-Stent Restenosis of a Drug-Eluting Stent

Percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting is considered recently as the most common procedure for the treatment of symptomatic coronary. The article reviewed 41 studies published during 1997-2019 on intracoronary brachytherapy for in-stent restenosis of a drug-eluting stent. Intracoronary radiation therapy was finally confirmed in the setting of in-stent restenosis using as adjunctive th...

Association of G22A variant of Adenosine Deaminase gene with coronary in-stent restenosis in coronary artery patients receiving drug-eluting stent

In-stent restenosis (ISR) is regarded as the main problem in the utilization of stents in the treatment of coronary artery atherosclerotic stenosis in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study investigated the possible role of the G22A variant of the Adenosine Deaminase gene (ADA) in the development of ISR. In this study, 91 patients who underwent PCI were divided into two groups of ...

نتایج بالینی پس از آنژیوپلاستی عروق کرونر، بروز حوادث بزرگ قلبی-عروقی و عوارض انواع استنت

Background: Cardiovascular diseases alone have become the leading cause of death worldwide. One of the treatment methods cardiovascular disease is angioplasty. This study aimed to investigate the clinical results after coronary artery angioplasty, based on the incidence of major cardiovascular events with emphasis on stent types. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, the preval...

Biodegradable stent

The bare metal stent (BMS) used in the blood vessel caused the restenosis after the operation due to formation and proliferation of neointimal. Recently, as a method to overcome the problems of BMS, drug eluting stent (DES) is developed and being applied to human body which has drug reducing restenosis applied on the metal surface. DES has the advantage of greatly reducing the restenosis after ...

Intracoronary Radiation Therapy (IRT) for In-Stent Restenosis

The efficacy of beta and gamma emitters in reducing clinical and angiographic restenosis in patients with in-stent restenosis has been confirmed by a number of studies. This review is intended to give an overview of the individual trials, summarize pertinent lessons that have been learned and give insight into the future of intracoronary radiation. The encouraging results from the clinical tria...

Diabetes is still a risk factor for restenosis after drug-eluting stent in coronary arteries.

We read with interest the metaanalysis of the effect of diabetes on restenosis rates among patients receiving coronary angioplasty stenting (1). This meta-analysis of six clinical trials showed that the odds ratio (OR) of coronary artery restenosis associated with diabetes was 1.61 (95% CI 1.21-2.14, P = 0.004) in univariate logistic regression models, but it decreased to 1.30 (0.99-1.70, P = 0...
